The Robots Are Coming To Take Your Job

The above short reminded me of my thoughts when I first saw the interview on Youtube.

According to Elon Musk, the current limitations of an economy can be represented by the equation: the Economy = Annual GDP per capita * capita. This equation reflects the relationship between a country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which measures the total value of goods and services produced in the economy, and its population, represented by the number of people (capita) living in the country. Sounds reasonable enough.

As technology continues to advance, there is increasing concern that robots, AI, and blockchain will replace a significant number of human jobs, with some estimates suggesting that up to 47% of jobs could be automated in the near future. Peter Zeihan today released an Op-Ed on Youtube stating that jobs will change, mainly within White Collar workers. The integration of blockchain technology in various industries is expected to bring about even more changes in the job market, and it is important to understand the potential implications of these changes.


Positive Outcomes of Increased Automation and Blockchain Integration:


According to Musk, if we were to remove the limit of Capita, replace everyone in manufacturing etc. with Robots, there would be no limit on the size of the economy!


Increased Efficiency and Productivity:

One of the main benefits of robots and AI is their ability to perform tasks with greater efficiency and precision than humans. The integration of blockchain technology can further increase efficiency by reducing costs and improving transparency in various industries.


Reduced Labor Costs: Automation could also help to reduce labor costs, particularly in industries where labor is a significant cost factor. This could benefit businesses, allowing them to invest in other areas of their operations and potentially increasing economic growth.

Improved Health and Safety: In many industries, automation could help to improve health and safety conditions for workers by reducing the need for them to perform dangerous and physically demanding tasks.

Negative Outcomes of Increased Automation:

Displacement of Human Labor: One of the major concerns about increased automation is the displacement of human labor. As robots and AI become increasingly capable of performing tasks previously performed by humans, it is likely that many jobs will become redundant, particularly in industries such as manufacturing and transportation. What Humans Should Do to Prepare:


The rapid pace of technological change is likely to bring about significant changes in the job market in the coming years, and it is important for humans to prepare for these changes. Here are a few suggestions for how individuals and communities can prepare for the impact of automation on employment:

  • Invest in Skills and Education: As robots and AI become increasingly capable of performing routine and manual tasks, it is important for workers to develop new skills and to invest in education that will help them to remain competitive in the job market.
